NEW DESIGNATION & STRUCTURE

From January 2015 onwards the Centre of Environmental Biology (CBA), a R&D unit based at the Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon University (FCUL) since 1994, will change name to Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Changes (Ce3C). This new designation accompanies an internal restructuring which resulted from the integration of two new research groups originating from other R&D units: the "Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation and Modeling (CCIAM) Group" (previously part of the Laboratory of Systems, Instrumentation and Modeling for Environment and Space Sciences and Technologies at FCUL), and the "Azorean Biodiversity Group (ABG)" (previously integrated at the "Centro de Investigação e Tecnologias Agrárias", Azores University). Ce3C’s main objective is to perform research that addresses societal challenges in ecology, evolution and the environment—the three Es in the new Centre’s name.

In the frame of the 2nd stage of the evaluation process of national R&D units, last September 26th, took place the site visit to our new centre - CENTRE FOR ECOLOGY, EVOLUTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES (CE3C). The evaluation panel was composed by Giuseppe Scarascia-Mugnozza, Mark Johnson and Francesco Loreto, and had the support of FCT staff Margarida Marcelino.
