Teresa Nogueira

Main Research Interests

My main research interests are: molecular biology, bioinformatics, microbial genomics, and horizontal gene transfer of genetic elements, containing bacterial virulence factors and antibiotic resistance traits. I am interested on understanding: how bacteria interact by producing, and releasing to the environment, cooperative or virulent traits, the dynamics of the bacterial secretome, and the genomic mobility among plasmids and chromosomal bacterial DNA.


Academic Qualifications

- 2001: PhD in Science (Physiologie et Genétique des Microorganismes, Université de Paris-Sud XI, Orsay, France)

- 1993: 5-year college graduation in Plant and Applied Biology (Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon)
